Top 10 UK Soap Operas: An In-Depth Review
UK soap operas have gained so much popularity, that it would be interesting to compare them altogether. The best soap operas would have to be ranked 1 while the worst 10, being the lowest score. Here are the highlights of the rankings we have pulled off. See if you will agree or oppose our grading with such UK soap operas.
8th, 9th and 10th - And since there have not been enough of the UK soap operas for us to watch and rank, we only have one show to give the grades 8, 9 and 10 - "Family Affairs", a show we have loved so much; however, we hate it now for having just vanished like that from our screens.
7th - the show "Doctors" takes the 7th seat. It is one of those much talked-about UK soap operas which people never really got to watch at all. The same thing goes for us; we have only seen the bizarre episode and thus, the rank of 7th.
6th - "The Australian Ones" bagged the 6th place; which gives us the impression that it is just the same as "Home & Away and Neighbors" Much of the settings would be seen in places where Australian people live and you could never tell anymore which show you're watching.
5th - "Emmerdale" goes to 5th place although it is a very simple show to watch.There is nothing special, nothing astonishing. For us, it comes across as one of those UK soap operas that ready the viewers to look forward to the much more special soap operas.
4th - "Casualty" and "Holby City" - Two hospital drama shows in one ranking because there is no difference in plots and settings at all. Both occur in the hospital, with doctors, nurses, bloody scenes and dying.
3rd - "Hollyoaks" - It is the only one of those UK soap operas that tackles about teen life. Such a unique soap opera although acting needs improvement and the stories are way exaggerated. But despite these, the music sequencing has compensated for such making the show stand out.
2nd - "Coronation Street" takes second although some stories were just boring. This is one of the UK soap operas that casts great characters and plays good story lines. It is very light to watch making you chuckle about almost anything in the show.
1st - "Eastenders" bags the 1st place what with its versatility. Will let you sit and relax while giving you a dose of laughter, some suspense and an easygoing feeling. Watch out for the characters Minty, Billy Heather and The Masoods, just a few of the funniest characters you will see on TV these days. Truly, Eastenders is one of the UK soap operas you should definitely watch out for!
